Couple: Jessica and Marty
Venue: Morgan Manufacturing Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Modern and rustic

How you both met: We met in Nashville. He was there for a bachelor party and I was there for a girls’ weekend getaway. We met at the bar Tootsie’s when his friend (the groom to be at that time) introduced us. And we only lived a mile from each other in Chicago. We had our first “official” date after we returned to Chicago.

Your proposal: He proposed at the Metra station in a park when I got off the train, with our dog in attendance and our (nearly 2 years old at the time) son holding a sign that read, “Mommy, will you marry my daddy”. After we went to dinner where he had arranged a surprise engagement party.

Style/Inspiration for your wedding: For our Morgan Manufacturing wedding we wanted a modern and rustic style with classic, delicate touches to soften the venue.

Details that mattered to you: I was mostly concerned with the dress and the lighting. We wanted to keep it fairly simply as the venue has a lot of detail.

What you love about your dress: I love the subtle sparkle, but my favorite is the open back!
