Photographer Notes: Icy and Mike’s wedding was held at one of the best hotels in Chicago- The Intercontinental. This hotel is so chic and elegant and is such quintessential part of Chicago- it’s on everyone’s favorite Chicago hotel list. I started with Icy in the bridal suite with all of her bridesmaids about to pop some bubbly to start kick-off the day. After a handful of some fun bridesmaid pics, I spent some time with Icy photographing makeup shots and dress pics with her girls. Then, it was off to our first look. So, for our first look, we shot on a nearby winding staircase that  overlooked the river among all the tourists walking around. But, Icy and Mike didn’t really seem to care-they were so excited to see each other and we captured some really wonderful moments with the beautiful city skyline backdrop.

Then, it was off to Adler Planetarium for some couple and wedding party photos. Once we arrived, a torrential rainstorm came with huge thunderclouds, lighting and high-winds. We sat in the bus until the storm passed and braved the wind and light misty rain. The light was amazing!! After the rain subsided a bit, we walked around the Museum Campus for awhile and headed to the back of Adler for some more pics.  All of a sudden, heavy rain was came down and drenched us all!  Icy and Mike ran under a overhang with an umbrella and the rest of us sprinted to the bus. We all got soaked, including everyone in the wedding party.

Quickly, we had to head back to the hotel to dry off and get ready for the ceremony. But, the rest of the day went according to plan and the reception turned out to be a pretty raucous celebration. Thanks to the couple and the wedding party for going out in the rain and getting some really beautiful pics!!
