Couple: Mary and Brian
Venue: Montgomery Club Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Old-school, Chicago

How you both met: We met at a bar in Lincoln Park back in the summer of 2010. We were at Zella and Brian asked to buy Mary a beer. We quickly hit it off and went on our first date a few days later – we had lunch downtown in the middle of the work day.

Your proposal: Brian proposed over Thanksgiving 2014 in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. After dinner with his family, we went for a walk on the beach around sunset and he got down on one knee!

Style/Inspiration for your wedding: We love living in Chicago – it’s where we both have lived for many years, and of course, where we fell in love. We wanted our guests, especially those in from out of town, to really feel that our wedding reflected the culture of the city and it’s beauty. We were really drawn to both our traditional, cathedral style church and our reception venue that had a very old Chicago vibe.

Details that mattered to you: We care most about making sure that everyone that joins us at our wedding has a really fantastic time. We are most excited about our reception venue – and it’s Gibson’s steaks! We also were excited to share our love of Chicago with friends and family. Both those from here and those visiting for a few days.

What you love about your dress: I love that my dress has a very timeless feel – and that it has vintage details and touches that compliment our old Chicago-style wedding.
