Couple: Michelle and Brad
Venue: Chicago Blackstone Hotel Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Classy vintage

How you both met: Online!

Your proposal: A couple weeks before Christmas, Brad suggested we go to the Field Museum. That is where we had our first “real” date (first date was like a blind date over drinks since we connected online). We hadn’t been back to that museum in nearly 2 years, and it is a great winter activity! I ran some errands that morning, and was late for our date (and looking back now I remember that Brad was very agreeable and laid back that day despite my pushing plans back!). It had snowed a couple days earlier, so there was a nice spot to take a photo outside by the “Field Museum” sign.

He told me where to stand, I turned around, and he was standing too close to me to take a good photo. I was getting ready to tell him to back up when he asked me if I knew why he wanted to bring me to the museum today.  Then, he dropped to a knee and asked! We then went to our favorite Italian restaurant that night and celebrated with a special bottle of wine sent over by Brad’s parents.

Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Elegant, classy, vintage. I wanted the style to complement the historic hotel and beautifully restored ballroom. My colors are white, gray, and gold. I didn’t want any loud colors to take away from the beautiful architecture and decor. Also, I thought those colors would help create a zen-like atmosphere!

What you love about your dress: I love the back of the dress. The sheer/lace back is absolutely my favorite part of the dress. I also love the long train and all the layers!
