Couple: Chelsea and Dominic
Venue: Chicago Gibsons Wedding
Style: Classic and chic.

How you met: We met the old fashioned way. That’s right, Tinder. We both swiped right and agreed to meet for drinks. Drinks soon turned into dinner, which turned into us not leaving the other’s side for weeks. The weeks turned into to months and the months to years.

Your proposal: After Dominic had asked permission to marry me from my family, he had asked a friend/family jeweler to custom make my engagement ring. The original plan was to bring the ring to Mexico and propose on our vacation.  When our jeweler texted Dominic to let him know the ring was ready, he couldn’t wait. He texted my sister (Betsy) to ask if he should do it that day! Betsy said “OF COURSE!!”

That very day, we both grabbed our typical Saturday brunch at Gibson’s and headed to Pippen’s Tavern for a drink. Dom said he needed to pick up some Hawk’s tickets for a friend in the Loop. We hopped in a cab, and Dom asked me to come into the jewelry store with him. And NO, I had zero idea why they’d be picking up Hawk’s tickets there. Nor did I catch on to what was about to happen. We walked into the store, and Dominic took a ring box out of the jeweler’s hand. Then, the next thing you know, he was on one knee. Everything after that was a blur….or a dream, I can’t remember?

Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Classic/chic/dainty with an old-school Chicago twist! I always knew I wanted things to be simple yet elegant. Not a lot of glitz. Light pink, cream, white and gold hues with candlelight. The Montgomery Club has a very “old school Chicago”/Art Deco” feel. It’s very intricate and beautiful. Which made it even easier to keep the rest of the décor simple and chic like we wanted.

Details that mattered to you: The DRESS and flowers. I’m definitely a bride who cares about the flowers. My mother used to be a florist. We always grew up appreciating the beauty and elegance they bring to just about anything.

What you love about your dress: Where do I begin?! It’s timeless, elegant, yet sexy. And it has pockets! The moment I tried it on, I knew. It’s something else!
