Couple: Joanna and Kevin
Venue: Chicago Pazzo’s at 311 Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Greek goddess feel with modern touches.
How you both met: I’m an elementary teacher, and I used to work at a school in Niles (where we currently live). I worked with another 1st grade teacher and we became very close. She ended up living next to Kevin and her husband was best friends with him. She introduced us and it was love at first sight!
Your proposal: Kevin took me to Wild Fire (where we went on our first date). After dinner, we went back to the house and he surprised me with rose petals and dozens of roses. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Style/Inspiration for your wedding: I was going for a Greek goddess feel wedding. The venue has a beautiful Greek turquoise fountain/statue in the center. I was going for a very modern theme-using the marble and gold from the venue. The colors are shades of white and lots of lush greenery.
Details that mattered to you: For our Chicago Pazzo’s at 311 wedding, we are having the wedding in the city, I wanted to bring in the city skyline. The table numbers are all hand designed with important buildings and structures that are special to us both. I also had a custom made guest book of the city skyline for guests to sign. The favors are Fannie May with a picture of our venue and the Willis Tower on them.
What you love about your dress: I love that my dress is not at all traditional. It’s sexy but very classy. I love the beading at the top- it was all hand made and created.
