Couple: Megan and Ankur
Venue: Meson Sabika Fusion Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Indian fusion

How you met (from the bride): We met at new Manager training while both working for Deloitte. Ankur had already committed to moving to Belgium two months later for work, but we decided to attempt a long distance relationship while I was living in Chicago and Ankur was in Brussels. Luckily, I was able to travel to Europe every or every other month and even moved to Paris for three months while Ankur was living a couple hours away.

Your proposal: Ankur surprised me with a trip to Napa Valley, a private wine tour on the first day of harvest at Smith-Madrone winery and a beautiful picnic in the “wedding cove” overlooking the valley before getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. The afternoon was followed up by a tasting at the first winery we had been together (Frog’s Leap) and a beautiful dinner in downtown Napa. He planned it perfectly and I was so surprised and overjoyed!

Style/Inspiration for Wedding: Indian/American with a Spanish twist.

Details that matter to you: Music, comfort of guests, photography and food.

What you love about your dress: It has been described by friends and family as “classic and timeless.” I am hopeful that I can look back on it years from now and by happy with my choice.
