Couple: Molly and John
Wedding Venue: Patrick Haley Mansion
Style: Chic and elegant wedding inside a historical mansion in Joliet, Illinois
How you both met: We met in 2014 while in 8th grade for an introductory math class at Joliet Catholic Academy, where we would attend high school the following year. For years, we ran in the same circle of friends but did not officially start dating until our senior year of high school.
Your proposal: February 7, 2017. John planned a “Chicago” tourist day since there was a good chance we would be moving the following year for his residency. After a day spent at the museums, John proposed at Millennium Park, where we had our first Valentine’s Day date. Both families were waiting eagerly nearby at Berghoff Restaurant to celebrate with us. The party continued with family and friends at one of our favorite Chicago bars, Toons.
Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Timeless, traditional, classic.
Details that mattered to you: To make sure our family & friends have a great time (band and open bar were two must haves). We also wanted the classic and timeless theme to be seen within the décor and venue.
What you love about your dress: The simplicity and the elegance. I love the back of the dress.
