Couple: Kim and Adam
Venue: Old Post Office Chicago Wedding
Wedding Style: Simple,elegant, modern

How you both met: At Flamingo Rum Club in River North out with mutual friends.

Your proposal: In our condo Friday after work. I came home to the apartment lit up by candlelight. Afterwards we had dinner at the Langham Hotel. Then, following dinner we walked to the hotel bar and all of our close friends were there waiting- I was very surprised.

Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Simple but elegant.

Details that mattered to you: Allowing enough time for dancing and socializing. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been able to do that. Also adding in subtle post office themed pieces throughout the wedding.

What you love about your dress: Simple and classy.

Photographer Notes: Kim and Adam’s Old Post Office Chicago Wedding was one for the rainy record books. The wedding occurred during one of Chicago’s torrential summer downpours, where the streets and viaducts became flooded with so much rain and severe weather warnings beeped on our phones throughout the day. But that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! The wedding was right after Chicago opened up after Covid, and everyone was ready to party and celebrate the wedding couple. And spend some time just being with each other.

We started the day at the ever-chic hotel, the JW Marriott, and had the couple’s first look in the ultra hip lobby. After waited for the rain to pass, and when the lull happened, we ran outside for some pictures up and down on LaSalle Street. We were super lucky and had about 30 minutes of gorgeous cloudy skies with some misting rain, and we were able to quickly grab pictures, and then the rain came gushing down again and it was time to head to the venue.

The ceremony went on without a hitch, with the couple’s daughter stealing the show! Afterwards, everyone headed upstairs for cocktails among the mid century modern second floor lobby. With some pretty hilarious speeches, it was time for steak dinners from Gibson’s and dancing into the night.

Thanks so much for Kim and Adam for such an incredible day and journey the past two years. And thanks for sticking with me throughout my move and with all the craziness. Best to you both!!
