Style/Inspiration for Wedding: DIY, nerdy, outdoor Star Wars themed!
How did you meet?: We met taking classes at Northeastern Illinois University. Katie was taking pre-reqs for vet school and Matt was finishing up his bachelor’s degree. Katie was invited to join a study group Matt was already a part of. We found out we had a lot in common during the first study group and then we starting hanging out more in class and then outside of class.
Style/Inspiration for Wedding: DIY and Nerdy! Matt & I DIY’d the guest table decorations (Disney’s “UP” themed), the seating chart (periodic table of seating), table numbers (Spaceship names with paragraph on each ship), the table decorations (burlap runners, wood planks with mason jars filled with flowers, reception favors (test tubes filled with Nerds candy)
What I loved most (from me, the photographer!): For this Redfield Estate Wedding, Katie and Matt endured the soaking rain so we could get some great pics. Although both me and my assistant (Thom Pham) were soaked to the skin, we enjoyed every single second of shooting with the couple. The rainy weather always offers some of the best light imaginable and we all had a great time walking around the beautiful Redfield Estate grounds. Thanks so much to the couple for being so brave and venturing out into the rain! Congratulations and best of luck in your new jobs and degrees!
