Couple: Kristen and Alex
Venue: Chicago Salvage One Wedding
Style/Inspiration: Vintage elegance
How you both met: We met the first day of graduate school.
Your proposal: Alex surprised me on the way to a surprise party. Where both of our immediate families were waiting. Everyone knew about the proposal and were waiting to celebrate with us.
Style/Inspiration for your wedding: Old Chicago, vintage, and bohemian inspired. And fun like both of our personalities!
Details that mattered to you: A unique space, welcoming environment, and vintage setting.
Photographer Notes: The couple’s love for each other was so transparent and infectious the entire wedding day. And even during our super-fun engagement shoot about 8 months ago. The couple easily meshed Jewish and Christian wedding rituals into a heartfelt ceremony. And they picked one of my favorite wedding venues in Chicago, Salvage One! We started the day with a few preparation shots at Salvage One. And had a very emotional first look. Then, we went on to the Fulton Market area to capture the industrial-chic neighborhood.
After the Ketubah signing, it was on to the ceremony and a raucous reception. With lovely speeches and the traditional Hora dance. Which is always a great time and gave us great picture-worthy moments. Thanks to the couple for a gorgeous day and giving me the honor of documenting your wedding!
