Couple: Sabrina and Peter
Location: Starved Rock Elopement
Style/Inspiration: Outdoors and intimate

Sabrina and Peter’s elopement was an absolute dream to photograph and one of those experiences that I will never forget. Some background; the couple had to postpone their wedding celebration to next year due to covid, and really, really wanted to get married. So, instead of having a city wedding in Chicago, they opted to have the wedding in Starved Rock. I was absolutely thrilled that they wanted me to photograph their actual ceremony! Their siblings and friends joined them the night before in an Airbnb. And at sunrise, we all got up and trekked to one of the waterfalls in the park.

One of Peter’s friends was the officiant and the couple exchanged vows among the rock formations and waterfall in the background. It was truly magical and I had to pinch myself to remind me of how lucky I was to be at such a beautiful ceremony space, with such a lovely couple. After the ceremony, we took our time taking pictures around the woods, which were lush and gorgeous. I can’t wait to go back to Starved Rock and hike with my family, or hopefully shot another elopement or wedding. Thanks so much to the couple for choosing me to photograph their special day. Congratulations!
